SPACE SAVING CABINET AHUS FOR HOSPITALS & HEALTHCARE
Medexs UK's hospital air handling units (AHUs) are a range of compact and fully HTM / SHTM 03-01 compliant cabinet AHUs, designed, developed and manufactured specifically for use in operating theatres, hospitals, medical facilities and most other healthcare premises.
Designed specifically for hospital, medical and healthcare settings, our HTM-03 Compliant Hospital air handling units easily achieve the recommendations laid out in the revised HTM 03-01 (2021) released in June 2021, whilst providing a compact and space saving alternative to the standard AHUs available on the market today.
An innovative solution to the challenge of operating theatre plant room space, the range is suitable for both new build and refurbishment hospital, healthcare and medical settings, including modular build and MMC applications. It particularly excels in the refurbishment of older hospitals and operating theatres falling short of the revised HTM 03-01 standards. Where a pair of existing operating theatres are supplied by a single full size air handling unit, we can install twin hospital air handling units in much the same footprint in order to achieve current HTM standards with no need to find additional space for a larger plant room in most cases.
Standard Features
Space-saving & COMPACT SIZE
The compact size of the MDX AHU range means that small spaces can be viable for conversion to plant rooms. A minimum space of 1.8m by 5.3m (including access) is required for installation of a single unit.
Modular Cabinet Design
Every MDX cabinet AHU is made up of 3 individual modules making transport and installation very simple. Where space is limited, the units can easily be installed module by module reducing installation costs and theatre downtime.
FLEXIBLE & CONFIGURABLE
Available in a cost effective range of supply, extract and heat recovery modules, in single, twin (back-to-back) or bank (multiples) configurations to suit both the application and space available.
HTM / SHTM 03-01 (2021) COMPLIANT
Medexs UK's hospital air handling units (AHUs) easily achieve the recommendations laid out in the REVISED HTM 03-01 (2021). Ideally suited to supply of critical healthcare ventilation, our air handling units provide resilience & diversity as described in the new documentation.
Increased AIR Output
MDX AHUs provide significantly higher air output at around 5.2m3 compared to a 2.6m3 from a standard air handling unit. This effectively doubles the amount of air that can be output from the same size footprint and improving cost effectiveness.
SAFE & SECURE CONSTRUCTION
Each MDX AHU module is manufactured in accordance with fire classification EUROCLASS A1, BS EN 13053 & BS EN 1886, specifically Casing Mechanical Strength: D2, Casing Air Leakage: L2, Filter Bypass Leakage Rate: Max 0.5 %, Thermal Transmittance: T2 & Thermal Bridging Factor: TB2.
